The BCP quarterly analysis on ecommerce growth in the business to business food and drink sector revealed another record month of growth in May with organic growth of 24% based on like for like sales in May 2016 and May 2017. Ecommerce order volumes were also up, growing by 20%.
As well as representing significant growth in the adoption and use of ecommerce in our particular market, the numbers reveal a growing order basket size.
The analysis is based on a sample of B2B food and drink businesses operating within the wholesale, distribution and foodservice sectors.
